Overview 🔍 This project was a pivotal milestone in my professional development by reinforcing the importance of accessibility in design. Following the 2019 rebrand, we identified in 2020 that certain color choices did not meet accessibility standards and that formal guidelines and rules for UI states were required. Contribution 🤝 • Introduced and standardized accessible color palettes based on WebAIM contrast guidelines to ensure readability across both light and dark backgrounds. • Defined and documented UI component rules to improve design consistency and efficiency. For example, while red remains part of the brand palette for illustrations and branding, its use in UI is restricted to “danger” states. Impact 🚀 • Enhanced overall readability and user interface clarity for all users. • Established a comprehensive UI blueprint serving as a single source of truth, ensuring design consistency across products. • Improved team efficiency. • Minimized errors and reduced revision cycles.
